Any universal remotes control the A2/A3?

Just wondering if there are any universal remotes out there that can control the functions of the Toshiba A2/A3 DVD Players, at least all the basic functions. And if so,hopefully it is under a couple of hundred dollars!

I don't know about ones that use pre-programmed functions, but my Home Theater Master MX-500 controls my HD-A2 just fine. It's a learning remote, so as long as you have the factory remote to "teach" it the IR codes it can control almost any device that uses IR.

Oh, and it sells for about $70.

My Harmony 680 controls my A3 decently. I haven't checked the mapping of the A B C D buttons, but I can power on, select, play, stop, FFW, etc.

Have you experienced a decent universal that would not control the A2/A3?

If people would start defining "decent" as, Is a learning remote, instead of, Is the cheapest thing I could find at Walmart.....then there would never be such a question.

Yup...my point. And he said his budget was under a "couple of hundred". I would be surprised if any remote about $65 and up wouldn't/couldn't control the A2/A3.

BTW to the OP...the standard recommendation around these parts is the Harmony brand and 880 in particular. There is already a thread on it started by GatorDeb.

Thank you all for the info. I will take a look at the Harmony series and the MX500 and make a final pick.

Cool. I have both HD-DVD players and the 880 is great. Everone can use it and I got it last week for $150 at Best Buy.
