TW Pioneer 3510 Voyager HD Cable Box Hookup Question

I currently have the TW 3510 HD Cable box hooked up to my 55” Mitsubishi 1080i TV via component cables only. The non-hd channels do not appear to come thru nearly as good as the HD channels, as I already expected would occur, and it is almost hard to watch them.
However, when I also plug an rca video cable into the Video out on the back of the cable box and that cable into a separate input on the back of the tv the picture appears to be better on the standard digital channels vs just using the Component cables when I flip to the input on the tv that the rca video cable is in.

Now my question is do I run the risk of my HD channels also trying to run thru the single rca video cable and not the component cables since both are plugged in the cable box? My assumption is no since the component cables are in a different tv input that I flip to when watching my HD channels then the input the single rca video cable is in.

Sorry if this is a dumb question!

I know what your referring to, since I have the same box. I run my components to video 1 for hd. Then I run rca cables to video 2 for sd tv viewing. Otherwise sd tv over components looks really bad. A single rca video cable won't pass an hd signal through it, the rca out(yellow jack) doesn't pass hd signals.
