Anyone have a decent HT in their apartment?

Is this even possible?

I think I should have no problems except for the Subwoofer pounding on the floor as I live on the 3rd floor of a 3 story building.

Apartments are already heavily insulated blocking sound from other apartments.

Thoughts?

Sure, keep the sub woofer low volume, and use nightime mode so you get surround sound from low volume.

I have got a 60" A2020 and a Definitive Technology surround system: 2-BP-7002, CRL2300 and 2-BP2Xs. I live on the 4th floor, which is the first floor of tenants, the 2nd and 3rd floors being parking and the 1st shops. I have my subs at about half way, and keep it at a decent volume, havent had any problems yet.

Get an SVS sub. The extra power in the low end will actually give you more bass for you while not annoying others. Even at low volume.

(there's always a good reason for SVS)

I just kept my sub level a little under half, never had any issues. Try and keep the windows shut as well.

Glad to be in a townhome now, I can crank it a bit higher.

I was going to post something similar to this..

My wife and I are moving from our house in Cincinnati to an apartment in Nashville. We had a 92" screen and front projector with a nice surround setup in the house.

Well the projector has been sold and I am going to put a 60" or 65" TV in the living room. Then I am going to attempt to wire some surround speakers and use my current sub... Hopefully I will be successful....

Anybody have pictures of their apartment setup???

1st floor apartment located in 1950's concrete building. The living room is 15'x15' and I have neighbors above and on the other (right) side of these pics (12'x12' kitchen/dinning area in between). No neighbor complaints in 2yrs. and have had 4 different tenants above.

Sound by Maggie and HSU, usually from 7:30AM to 1:00AM during my off days and 6:00PM to midnight on work days.
