Scientific Atlanta Explorer 4250 HD cable box questions.

Can anyone tell me what the USB port on the back of the box is for?
Also, what is the bypass feature in the menu for?
thanks

It might help to note what service you have.

There are ports on alot of different boxes, usb, rs-232 etc., that are sometimes there for so-called "future" expansion. It may be something or nothing at all. You would need to check with your service provider most likely.
