I really can't don't know for sure. I know my credit score is tier 1 and I got instant approval. If you know roughly what your score is you could probably call up the financial institution that backs them and ask what they base their decision on. If you have questions/concerns just call instead of applying online.

If it isn't great then they likely won't pull strings for you and extend it to 18 months or anything if it isn't a current offer but then again you never know.

thanks for the info

Here you go. They look like crap though. My DVD player blurs the flippin image when paused and for the Leno & Letterman I couldn't pause since they were antenna. None of the images do it justice :(

Panasonic TH-50PH9UK

Of course, it looks even better in person, and I was just hypnotized when National Geographic aired a few brief moments of HD footage shot from space. I love the NGHD channel. :D

When you have your living room as dark as possible, the television set just shines when you watch HD movies of space. Star Wars III was absolutely amazing, even on cable HD. Haven't got a HD DVD player yet though. Someday.

If you take a close look at this image you will see some great details. The shadows of the clouds, etc.

Panasonic 700U

You should check out the Panasonic 700U 1080p 50 inch Plasma.

http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Panas...oductDetail.do

I was going to get this, but the price break on the Sony XBR series 1080p LCD was irresistible.

The picture quality was amazing . . . definitely better than the XBR LCDs.

Cons:
Almost three times more power consumption (I believe the Panasonic site said it was around 600+ watts compared to Sony's 200+ watts)

Quality? Well don't get me wrong Panasonic is a tier one Japanese company, but I usually stick with Sony. . . my CRT XBR from Sony lasted 14+ years . . . now that's durability

Besides, the XBR2 suits me fine because I'm planning to get the best Plasma 4 years from now and then I'll just give my old hdtv to my relatives.

In the mean time, I have bought the XBR2 to last me until that moment.

Nefarious and DVD Polizei thanks for posting those pics. Love all of of them.
Nefarious, I am not sure, but to me in the Leno and letterman, I think I am see SDE, is it me who is seeing this or can anyone else see it also.

Is it because the pics were taken from very close to the TV?

Thanks

Nefarious 06-21-07 06:57 AM

The pics were all taken about 10-12 feet away and I zoomed in with my lens. I also cropped to reduce image size.

I don't know if is a result of the open exposure time on a non-paused image or what.

You can see the screen door effect if you stand within 1 or 2 feet of the TV but I assure you there is no hint of it at any standard viewing distance. These pictures really do not do it justice.

Is the Panasonic better for playing games or the Samsung. I will be playing my 360 on the TV, so I need to know if teh Samsung is less prone to IR and burn-ins. I have heard in the AVS forum that the samsung has a game mode in their newer models.

Thanks

dick_grayson 06-21-07 09:36 AM

I use my Panasonic plasma to play Wii (and used to use it for Xbox). Never had any burn in issues or any problems whatsoever.

Josh H 06-21-07 10:15 AM

Yeah, burn in is pretty hard to get on the newer plasmas by any manufacture as long as you do the break in period and do mixed viewing (which is the norm for most since most of us probably watch TV, DVDs and play games).

I'd only shy away from plasma if you are regularly playing games with static images all day long, or leaving the TV on CNN or ESPNNEWS 12 hours a day or something.

I have a Macbook, will I be able to use it with the Panasonic Plasma. Has anyone here had any experience with it?

JohnDoeUSA 06-24-07 01:52 AM

Get the Panny 75U at CC for $1769. BB has it for $2069!!!!!

I think most of the Panasonic plasmas come with a basic PC video input (DB15 VGA) so you should be fine. Which model were you thinking of? I know the UK series plasmas have the DB15 input as standard.

sid369 06-24-07 08:49 AM

I was looking at the PX75U or the PE77U available only at costco. I am not sure though. I am worried that at 10 feet should I get the 42" or the 50".

sid369 06-24-07 08:50 AM

Also I was considering the samsung 5054, but I have heard that the sets have a lot of judder, does anyone know where can I see a video which displays what ajudder looks like.

I think you'll need to go up a model to get the PC VGA input. That's why the older TH-50PX600U for $1600 delivered (newegg) is such a bargain right now.

Only the new TH-50PZ700U (around $3000-$3500 these days, but it is 1920x1080) has the PC VGA input, not he TH-50PX75U or TH-50PX77U models from Panasonic.

Spiky 06-24-07 09:56 AM

Uh, the Macbook has DVI out. Just run that to an HDMI input on the plasma.

And I don't see any SDE in the pics above. There is a diagonal line problem, probably introduced by the camera. Pictures of TV screens are neat, but a very poor way to judge quality, unless you mean quality of your camera and processing skills.

Check the specs carefully, but the slight variance in model number probably means they are the exact same thing. At least on the inside. This way both store types can claim exclusive models and pricing.

Go to a store and sit/stand/kneel 10' away from the 2 sizes. Doesn't even matter which TV you look at. That way you can figure out how big you want it. It can be difficult, try to block out everything else in the giant room and imagine you're sitting at home.

sid369 06-24-07 10:14 AM

I just checked amazon and the prices on the 50PX75U and the Hpt-5054 are crazy right now. It can be had for around $1500. DO you guys think the prices may come down more in the next month.

Also does anyone know if Onecall price matches Amazon?

Arpeggi 06-24-07 11:00 AM

Pioneer PDP-5080. Best TV ever. (until the new Pioneers come out at the end of the year, that is)

looks like it.

OneCall will match the online, delivered price for identical, in-stock products with like delivery service from the list of competitors below. Additionally, we will price protect your purchase 7 days from your purchase date. If either OneCall’s price or a competitor’s price from the list below reduces, we will credit you the difference.

Amazon.com Retail

Nefarious 06-26-07 02:20 PM

If it is Amazon offering it at that price, then yes. If it is some third-party vendor (e.g. Butterfly Photo or something) then they likely won't.
