Panasonic TH58PX60U stand recommendation

Does anyone know of a good place with decent prices to get a low profile stand for a 58" plasma? I want to eventually hang the TV when we move to a new house within the year but in the meantime I have to get this TV off the ground on the insistance of the wife. The stand will eventually end up in the new bedroom with our older 50" plasma so it also needs to not be that big. The base is approximately 3' feet wide and 17" deep on the 58" TV.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks. :)

doesn't it come with the stand in the picture?

I guess you can call it a stand but it's the base which is attached to the tv.

Don't you have to screw in the base to the plasma unit itself? I had to screw in the base to my 50PX600U plasma last month. The base doesn't come pre-attached to the plasma unit.

Yeah, the base is in three pieces. Two pieces which screw onto the TV and the bottom base which is attached thereafter.

More like a pedestal is what others are referring to.

But anyway, check out Sanus Systems. Around $300 for a really good stand.

If that's too much, you might check Target. I saw a few decent ones for under $200 which would support a 50" or so.

Thanks, DVD Poizei. I'll check out that link. I didn't know Target had stands. I'll probably check out what they have tomorrow.

No problem. Glad to help. I went ahead and visited Target's online tv stand collection and they have a lot more than what I saw in my local store (and the prices range from around $50-$300):

Hopefully that link works. If not just type "tv stand" in the Target search window.

Ikea has a nice simple wood stand for about $70. The birch and beech ones look nice ...

Just realize that the 58" model weighs a lot, probably over 150 pounds with its base/pedestal.

I made my own stand for my 50" model. :) It still cost about $100 in supplies.

That's freakin' cool. Too bad I'm not much of a handy man. So, that is an option I will not even attempt to do.

I've been searching but so far nothing I like or the depth I'm looking for; which has to be no more than 20" and a height of less than 20". The TV itself weighs 138lbs w/base attached according to the manual.
