UPS Protection for a LCD
 

I'm going to replace my old CRT in my bedroom with a LCD next month and I was thinking about using a UPS.

The only thing that I am going to power off the UPS is an LCD, DVD player, Dish Network box, and eventually a Wii. I may hook a few other things to the non-battery outlets on the UPS, but nothing that will need the backup power. Will one of the APC UPS that are normally sold for computers work? I was looking at the 350VA (200 watt), and the 550VA (330 watt) ones. I basically want something that will provide me with a few minutes of backup, so I can shut off the TV and components if the power goes out.

Will the 350VA be enough, or should I go with the 550VA one? Also will hooking up other things to the non-battery outlets on the UPS effect what model I should look at?

I think they are around $170 at the BB site, and not carried in stores (or at least the ones around here).

I was going to buy one, but can't find anything close to that price, and there is no Costco around me.

The LCD rotates, so you can use it either vertically or horizontally.

They have come in handy in the summer stormy season. When we have strong thunderstorms, we lose satellite signal, but not OTA. That's all great, but if the power happens to flash (which is relatively common), the receiver has to detect the satellite before you can ever get back to tuning OTA. So if the power flashes (or even stays off a few minutes), we can continue watching weather updates (if the weather is truly that severe) uninterrupted via the flawless OTA image! (not that any UPS wouldn't do the same)
