Advice: Blu-ray PCM Audio
Boy I'm getting more & more confused with all these audio formats.
My Receiver is a "Pioneer VSX-49TX which has mulit channel inputs. I recently bought a Samsung "Blu-ray" BD-P1000. Do I run the 6 analog wires from Blu-ray player to multi channel inputs on Receiver? Which means I have to select multi channel input on front of Receiver when needed? All other audio formats are selected by "Auto". I don't have a Blu-ray disc yet with PCM to try this out yet? Thanks much for all advice much appreciated! Update : I got "Dejavu" today which has uncompressed 5.1 track. I selected the uncompressed track & it played fantastic via my Receiver. Sound is much louder then the dolby digital 5.1 track. Only thing is the sub is not working is this normal for uncompressed tracks? Also my 5 channel lights on front of Receiver don't light up & says analog. Is this correct? Even though I bought my Receiver 4 years ago it processes uncompressed 48/16-bit. So glad I don't need to replace my Receiver just yet YA! |
Yep you can use the 5.1 or 6.1 analog inputs for any format that player can decode, which I assume is everything. You sure you have the right audio track selected when you're having the issues. More info not playing correctly isn't enough to make a guess.
