Wierd Toshiba SD 3750 DVD Player Problem
I've read through a number of the Toshiba 3750 issue threads but did not come across anything similar to the problem I've been having.
Up to now, I haven't had a problem with my 3750. I clean it regularly, layer changes are slightly noticeable and only recently I've had a few lockups on NetFlix DVD's that I attributed to damaged discs.
I purchased a new copy of Casino Royale and attempted to play it on the 3750 but it would not read the disc. I put in the supplimentary disc and it worked fine. I then played the disc on another Toshiba I have and the movie disc played fine. I then played copies (owned) Transporter 2, Bad Boys II on the 3750 and they work fine.
I got a copy of "Stranger than Fiction" via NetFlix and once again could not play it on the 3750. I ended up having to play it on our PS2 we have hooked up to our home theater.
Something change in the DVD authoring process that I don't know about?
Pretty strange, huh? Any input would be greatly appreciated.
TIA
Stan

The DVD forum would be the place to ask/search about a possible authoring mess on a particular disc.
I would say it could be that, or a player slowly dying.

Okay. Tried the "unplugged overnight" solution. That didn't work. Any other ideas before I have to go out and buy another progressive scan DVD player?

You can try cleaning problem discs in the hottest water you can obtain. Otherwise, nothing comes to mind.
How do you clean the player? Most of those "cleaner" discs are actually more dangerous than simply not cleaning. They can knock the laser off track. The laser is inside, the lens doesn't get real dirty.
