Pictures of my Home Theater's Evolution

After nearly a year of planning, we're finally building our 2nd home theater. I had to leave the last one when we relocated and I promised to do it up bigger and better the 2nd time.

I'm documenting the entire process at this site:

http://deb.tobiasly.com/ht

Basically, we're building a dedicated HT, concession stand, art gallery, and game room.

I'll continue to post new pics as the project evolves.

Rick

Looks like it's going to be a great home Theatre. I'm working on one right now and am hoping to get the bar running like a snack bar. I got a popcorn machine today and will get one of those hot dog cookers sometime this week.

Just an FYI, I don't know how much research you have done on the hot dog cookers, but I was surprised to find out that even the smaller roller units often used in a home take 25, 30, 40 minutes or longer to cook a batch of hot dogs. And some have complained about the smell from cooking 6-10 hot dogs at once in the house. You got to plan for that more then for popcorn! I ended getting one of those very simple "toaster" type hot dog cookers. It only does two at a time but only take 2-3 minutes each set. The taste is pretty good almost like a grill but no smokey flavor. We use it all the time. The best part is my kids can easily do it as it is just like making toast in the morning!

Thanks for the heads up. I was planning on looking into them before I buy one this week so maybe I'll wait longer before I buy. That one you're speaking of sounds good. Where'd you purchase it?

**EDIT**

Found it on amazon.com along with the one I was looking at. Thanks again.

Nice...lots of thought going into it. I like the idea of an art gallery....

is this a basement that you have that much room?

I think the art gallery is a great idea. I'm eager to see the rest of the development.

Yes, I was fortunate enough to find a house with an unfinished 1600 square foot basement. I'm finishing about 1000 square feet now and leaving the rest for storage, a future bath, and future walk-in DVD storage closet.

Man what I wouldn't give for a basement. Alas, here we have a high water table and terrible soil = NO BASEMENTS

After some more research on the item I was looking at I decided to purchase it as it was a good price at $30. The hot dog roller is great and makes great tasting hotdogs!

Which one did you get? How long does it take to cook the hot dogs?
