Replacing my old CyberHome player.....

My trusty old CyberHome CH-DVD 500 finally died on me, after sitting unused in a closet for a year. Now I need a new player to replace it, but am wondering if I'll be able to find one with the same amount of features. The main reason I bought it in the first place was for the NTSC/PAL conversion, region code bypass, AND the Macrovision bypass. Also nice was the ability to mix down DTS tracks to 2-channel stereo, since i don't have a surround setup. Are there any players currently on the market that can do all of that, and don't cost an arm and a leg?

The Oppo 970HD seems highly regarded, and my should be ariving this week, it is (easily) region free, and can hacked to upconvert over component, but I believe is weak with PAL discs.

The 981 is 1080p, more expensive, but works better with PAL, but has potential for macro-blocking with DLP sets.

Diamondvision makes very reliable dvd players that are region free.

Oppo is the only way to go.

Here is another cheap alternative:
