Subwoofer connection help

I recently purchased a Jamo subwoofer(6510) and need help connecting it. The cable comes with a y-splitter but I'm not sure if I am supposed to use it. The sub has two inputs on the back, IN and OUT Mono/LFE. Do I connect the splitter into both of these? Thanks.

You can but it is not necessary.
