The 999 price still saved me a couple hundred off my discount price, so I feel the wait was worth it.

My Mom paid for half so I can't open the thing until christmas. From now until then I just need to buy everything else for it!
Great choice! Good job on snagging one.

I also ended up picking up the 42" Panasonic TH-42PX60U yesterday as well. However, since I am too lazy to stand in line for hours and still possibly miss out on the deal, I opted to purchase it online from CC. I paid a bit more than others, but hopefully I can get the $200 rebate for installation and be near the $1000 price point. =)

The TV has gotten great reveiws from what I've read on AVS, so I'm really excited about getting it set up in time for the bowl games.

For those that have this TV, here is a link that has a list of proposed Optimal Picture Settings (ISF Calibration).

What kind of outputs does your Dish Network receiver have? Since you bought a HD TV, I assume you have a HD Dish Network receiver. If so, surely it has HDMI or at the very least component. Use one of those.

How are you doing audio? Do you have/want to use a HT receiver or only thru your TV? HDMI should carry both video and audio. If you use component you will also have to run left & right audio.

The dish receiver will at least have Svideo if it is not an HD receiver. That is probably the best choice, here.

Where are you going with the audio? The TV or HT receiver?

BTW, you need to use what you got, but generally speaking quality goes,

1. HDMI
1a or 2 (depending on who you talk to) Component
3. S-Video
4. composite (do not use).

HDMI is a digital connection that carries both video and audio.

A quick question for all of you new Panasonic 42PX60 owners out there. Do you hear a slight buzz coming from the rear of the set? I noticed a slight buzzing sound coming from the top corner of the back of the set. It has the sound of a normal operating noise(perhaps the circuits need to burn in) and I only notice it when I'm standing next to the set with the volume turned down. If other PX60 owner's sets are dead silent, then I'll be concerned. If you notice the same slight buzz, then I'll just assume that it's a normal operating noise. Thanks.
