Any comments on the Yamaha YSP-800 speaker

Anyone out there have the Yamaha YSP-800 surround speaker? Looking for user comments aside from the usual stuff on cnet, etc. Thinking about this for a relatively small room set up with a 32" LCD. Not concerned about the big home theater sound as that is already in the main room. Just looking for something straightforward and simple with good clear dialog and maybe a little ambience thrown in.

Thanks . . .

My comments are the same as always, have you listened to it?

IMHO I do not see how it can do what it claims and for the money I think you can do better.

The concept is valid, of directional sound bouncing to you from various points. I've heard this stuff before (with specialized speakers) and it's a little freaky that it works so well. But any such system would have to be designed for your room specifically to really work. And it makes the "sweet spot" that much harder to create in a decent size. And I haven't heard either of Yamaha's speakers, I don't know if they are specialized to do the directional thing well.

I'm not sure this speaker will necessarily sound any better than the 2-channel "surround" modes built into most TVs these days. Or just plain stereo, which really isn't bad in the first place.

Well it *should* be an improvement over the 2w speakers in the TV in terms of reproducing clear dialog, and the reviews I've read indicate it does that fairly well. I'm just looking for consumer comments on that issue in a HT setting. It's hard to get a feel in a store for dialog unless it is in a HT room which seem to be dwindling these days.
