Need some help with headphones
 

I recently moved in with a roommate who has a starting shift at 4am so he gets to bed around 8pm and with me at school or work during the day this leaves me with no time to really utilize my surround sound for movies and gaming. So I've now decided it's time to invest in a nice pair of surround sound headphones for night. I found this pair of tritton true 5.1 audio xtreme headphones with a detatchable mic which would be perfect for playing xbox live games night. My question is if these would be a good pair of cans. I know virtually nothing about headsets or even audio really. I just got into the whol surround sound thing a few months ago so I'm still pretty new at all of this.
