DirecTV HR20-250 + Samsung LCD + HDMI = No signal?
 

So, we got the HR20-250 DVR installed today, connected to a Samsung LN-S4051D LCD HDTV. Or better put, we got it installed, but my wife was home, I'm at work. The installer, after hooking the DVR up via HDMI, and the TV not recognizing the symbol, said that there's a problem with the DVR and Samsung TVs over HDMI, and that some point there'll be a firmware update to fix it, so for now he connected it over component.

So, was the installer yanking my wife's chain, or is there really a documented problem? And if it really is a problem, is there any way to fix it before a full firmware update fixes it?

I do not know the answer, but highly recommend checking dbstalk, which is not more specific re the HR20s.
(And I feel your pain in getting it installed w/only the wife home.) Good luck...
