50" plasma vs 50" lcd rear projection
 

for those in the know, which would you recommend. im thinking the:

Sony KDS-50A2000 Grand WEGA 50" SXRD 1080p Rear Projection HDTV

or

Panasonic TH-50PX60U 50" Plasma HDTV

if anyone has either of these or similar, your opinion would be greatly appreciated

I have the Panasonic th-phd8uk (which is the same model but with no speakers) and the picture is amazing. The colors (esp. blacks) are perfect. Dvds in 480i even look great. I can't recommend it enough.

I don't have either but if the rear proj. is still one of those that require a sweet spot and small viewing angle, Panny plasma all the way. Even if the Sony doesn't, in general, the Panny plasmas are very hard to beat.
