Connecting PC up to 1080p lcd tv panel. Resolution is whacked.

Just got the new X Series Sony TV's in at work and I suggested setting one up with a pc to view HD trailers and stuff since we don't have HD-DVD here yet. Anyway, it's hooked up to a HP Media Centre box with a Geforce 7600 card in it. The screens native res is 1920 x 1080 and that's what the pc is set to, however the picture flows over the sides of the screen. Ran a couple of 1080p wmvhd trailers off the MS website and they looked like crap.

Running it through a DVI -> HDMI cable. Will using a VGA cable work better for me or is there some other trick?

Just a guess here but have you gone into the menu and is there a setting for a PC? I am not familiar with your TV, but it sounds as though there is a simple problem. Are you sure your screen is at the resolution of 1920 x 1080, because the picture your PC is outputting is bigger then that, according to your TV. Try this program, see if it helps out.

Actually got it fixed up yesterday. There was a setting only available while using the HDMI cables called 'Full Pixels'. And that made everything look normal. Thanks.
