Advise on DVD player (US/European format)
 

My friends parent where origianlly from europe and have family over there. They get family DVD and some they can view and others they cannot. I have not seen the disks so I cannot comment is there a DVD player that provides optimal play for all formats. Not sure if regions is an issue but on burnt DVD I would think not

Any assistance on a DVD player that supports both would be appreciated

I can personally recommend the OPPO: http://www.oppodigital.com/opdv971h.html

Performs PAL/NTSC conversion very well, and is simple to make "Region" compliant with a code entered from it's supplied remote. :)

There is also a inexpensive Philips player, that does a fair job.. but is not up to the same Video quality.

Many others avilable.. I'm sure others will chime-in with good advice.
