How are those BOSE Triport Headphones? ($150)

I've listened to these in the Apple Store and they seem heavenly. But the $150 price tag is pretty outrageous. Anyone have these, with comments? How are they for working out/running?

The bottom line with 99.99% of Bose stuff: It either sucks or... if it's good, it's waaay too expensive.

The beginning and end of your headphone advice needs. Sennheiser is usually at the top of every list. Bose actually isn't too bad in headphones, even the pricing, but I'm not familiar with those. I have a feeling there are better choices in the price range. Are you looking for something that big? Working out suggests something smaller. The Sennheiser PX100 is frickin' amazing for under $40. It's not even fair at that price.

So what headphones to get? Looking for the ones that fit in-the-ear and have lots of bass...pretty much the ones that look like these Apple ones:

They say the Etymotic are the best. Not exactly cheap, but in the price range you started with in post #1. I don't like in-ear phones, so I haven't tried them and can't give an opinion. As the link suggests, it depends on where you work out. If you are talking about a gym, in-ear is probably the best. If you run on the street, you probably should get something that will allow you to hear cars about to run you over.

Etymotic and Shure are both great. I have the Shure E2c and really like them. It takes a while to get used to the in-ear design, but they sound great.

Do the in-ear (IEM) phones hurt after a while? From what I gather the go inside the ear cannal deeper than regular ear buds. Do they stay in, or do they have a tendancy to wiggle out if you're jogging??

I haven't had a problem with the in-ear phones before, especially the ones that cup inside the ear.

So are the Sennheiser in-ear phones the way to go? The Shure ones are like $150-200 it looks like.

I second that, as I've had a pair for a couple of weeks (have them on right now as a matter of fact).

They are stellar. Sound great, comfortable even to wear for several hours a day at work, and they were $31.88 plus shipping at Amazon (from a third party store).

For me they do. I still use them when I am mowing the lawn, etc., but otherwise if I am just relaxing, I prefer closed Sennheisers.

From seeing Triports being used at work, they tend to break very easily and not be nearly as durable as $15 pairs of generic headsets, but they do sound nice.
