Moving To Apartment - Advice On Moving LCD Rear Projection TV

I'm just wondering, I'm moving in a month or so and need to know the best way to move my Sony 42" LCD Rear Projection TV. I'm nervous about anything damaging the screen itself. I was thinking just putting it in the back seat of my car with a comfortor blanket over it or something, rather than having movers take care of my TV. Anybody with experience moving, any feedback would be greatly appreciated

I moved a 55" RPTV and that was a PAIN. Although, I only moved a short distance and I put it in the back of a truck. I could watch it and ride in the bed too. I think your car would be safe....just make sure it's sturdy.

You would be surprised about how sturdy these tv's are...It is a big pain in the ass because they are so awkward (especially going up to the 3rd floor of a 5 floor walkup) but some pillows and a blanket should be just fine.

Fantastic, thanks for the advice. And no worries, I'm moving into a first floor apartment, heh.

That TV weighs next to nothing so two people can move it no problems. Just get something to cover the screen and you will be ok.

I moved my 50" RPLCD in the back of a mini van and covered with a blanket. No problem.
