Opinions on 27" SDTV?

I've been keeping my eye open for a decent deal on a 24-27" SDTV and saw this at Best Buy this week:

RCA 27" Flat-Tube Standard-Definition Digital TV
Model: 27F534T

I haven't been able to find too many reviews/opinions on this specific model, anybody have any experience with this or similar models?

p.s. I will be getting a larger hdtv in a year and a half or so when i finally move out, i'm just looking for a relatively cheap yet nice sized tv for my room at home right now.

Personally, I've rarely ever heard anything good about RCA TVs, and the one I ownedw as the worst TV I've ever had.

Last weekend Brandsmart had a 30" 16x9 no name (Prima) HDTV for $348. It couldn't be any worse than RCA. Keep looking.

Steer clear of RCA, at all costs. Your best bet is either a Toshiba or a Sony. Sharp isn't bad, either, but the picture quality isn't as good.

I hate to break the bad news, but don't get an RCA. Worst TV I've had over the last 20+ years and it died after about a year.

If you are serious about getting an HDTV in a year or so, I wouldn't drop $300 on a non-HD now. I would either spend a bit more and get an HDTV now, or get something really cheap to tide you over. Maybe even pick up a used set on craigslist or something.
