Nice!

Thanks for posting this.

It better not be like the SA HDTivo. This could drag me away from DirecTV, I imagine.

No HiDef inputs = No Sale :(

treszoks 01-06-06 09:29 AM

I wonder if there will be an "upgrade" price or any specials for current owners of series 2 boxes.

What are you looking to do that the cable card couldn't handle? (Note: I'm assuming this is cable only and built in satellite versions would be marketed seperately).

That is sweet. I still can't believe I don't own a Tivo (or any other DVR for that matter). -ohbfrank-

2 Cablecard tuners, 2 ATSC tuners. That's all HD capable.

I hope so. I jumped aboard right when series 2 was released, but wasn't there a way to transfer your lifetime sub to a series 2 from a series 1 when it first came out?

There aren't going to be any more satellite versions. DirecTV is goign exclusiuvely with thier own DVR.

Update: $500-800 supposedly and records up to 300 hours...hmmm.

Does it still decide for you when to delete programs?

Damn, that's something to think long and hard about for $500.

Still? Which one are you talking about? They all do this, HDD space is finite. If you fill it up, either it stops recording or starts deleting, however you set it up. All user controllable on Tivo, not sure about all other DVRs.

I think he's asking about the broadcast flag. Tivo software updates automatically so while it may not auto delete now, it may in the future.

Build yourself a MythTV box if you're worried about that. Unfortunately, for consumer electronics, this issue is not going away, nor is it confined to TiVo.
