Problem with my new Toshiba SD-4980SU DVD Player, It only plays in B/W not color

After turning the DVD Player on, it displays the menu and the movie in black and white and not color. I have the s video and audio cables hooked up correctly and it plays fine but not in color.

Anyone have any suggestions for me ?

Thanks

Change the DVD player's video output to S-Video instead of the YPbPr (Component Video) setting.

Or check the S cable as a broken pin could cause this

It's either this or some DVD players give you the choice of selecting Black and White in menu/sub menu....I have one that has this option.

When I bought my first DVD player, in 1999, I hooked up the RCA cables into one of the Component Video setting, and watched Saving Private Ryan. I had never seen the movie before, and thought it was in black and white. It was not until I watched a color movie that I called the store I bought the DVD player from to find out what was going on, and he explained to me how much of an idiot I was. If you can't laugh at yourself...
