Projector Research Recommendations

Hello, I have been very interested in projectors for quite some time and was just wondering where a good place to do a little research on the subject would be.

Also, i have seen a lot of Epson projectors with some good reviews. Is this brand a choice one for projectors. Would they be good for a starting product such as...this

You could start here

http://www.projectorpeople.com/

There is no substitute however for seeing a projector and screen in action.

Yeah, where can that be done? The only place in my area i could think of was best buy but they do not have any at my location, at least that i know of.

Look for a higher-end store than BB.

A couple good places on the web are projectorcentral.com and the appropriate forum (there are 4 of them about projectors, pick which one fits you) at AVSforum.com.

I used Tweeter as a place to view the projectors and a few other smaller stores. Only issue is most projectors that tweeter has are about $3k and above.

You really want to read up a lot. I ended up going with a X-1 not only because of cost, but also because of the almost unbelievable amount of information available. My learning curve was shortened to almost nothing. By the time I got my PJ, I knew what screen I would build, initial settings, perfered way to set up, light control, etc, etc.

Now nothing beats go old experimenting, but it is nice to have a "starting" point.
