Help with picture in picture for friends TV

Im trying to help a friend with their picture in picture. The problem is that when both pictures are set for digital cable, they cant display different channels. When I change the channel, both the right and left picture change to the new channel instead of just one. Are there additional set ups that I need to do in order to get this to work.

Thanx in advance

To do this they need two tuners. Without two boxes they cannot get two seperate cable channels. You could use a vcr tuner or the tv tuner for the second picture.

Here is another option:

Get a splitter, and connect one cable to the cable box and back to the TV. With the other cable, run it directly from the splitter to the TV.

While this option will not allow him to get all cable channels on the second window, you should be able to get the "basic" channels. It's not a cure-all, by any means, but if you're looking to watch basic cable on one window, this works.

Your friend can also see if his cable company provides a dual-tuner box. My cable company (Mediacom) does, and it comes at no additional cost from what I already have.
