Motorola DVR Help

Long time lurker, only a once in awhile poster. I did a DVR search but couldn't find anything. Please bare with me if this has been discussed before. I'm hoping you guys/gals can help me with an issue I'm having. I just acquired a Motorola DVR through Cox Cable two days ago. I have been trying to record to no avail. Here is what is happening. I'm going into the guide, selecting my show and hitting record. I go through the motions of making sure the show is padded. Once done, the block my show is in is highlighted in red with a "rec". When it comes time to watch the show, it is not in my saved programs. It is, however, in my scheduled recordings. I know for a fact I'm selecting the show on the correct date ( i.e not next week's show ). Has anyone else had this problem? I've done everything imaginable other than calling cox.

Call Cox.

I have a Cox DVR, and it sounds like you're doing everything correctly. Can you get it to record anything at all? Not scheduling, but just telling it to record what's on TV right now?

No, I can't record anything. When looking in the manual, it shows a clock instead of a "rec" in the block. I can pause, rewind live tv just fine. I'm just glad I played around with it and came to this conclusion before I recorded something I really wanted to see.

Swap it. Cable boxes are often bad since they never seem to take the bad ones out of the mix. Your returned box will go to the next poor sap who wants a DVR.
