Set-up question/problem............
 

I hope that I'm posting in the right place.

My name is Joe and I live in a nursing home, my question is: How do I connect a Panasonic VCR, a Sony 24” Trinitron TV, a Panasonic DVD player and a MSN tv 2 ‘media player’ (aka Web TV) ?

One of our aids set them up like this:
The incoming cable wire is connected to the VCR. Then the VCR to TV. The TV to the DVD player and to the MSNtv2 media player. This works BUT…
There is a problem: when I watch a DVD movie disc - the picture is normal then it darkens about every about 10 seconds, continuously thru the entire movie.

I’d appreciate any advice to the proper set-up to all of these items and to the DVD picture fluctuating problem.

Right place.

The darkening sounds like Macrovision copy protection. If the DVD player is directly connected to the TV, this shouldn't happen. (unless the TV is an older TV/VCR combo) Is it wired to the TV directly or to the VCR? If the connections can't be done to avoid this problem, there are devices that remove the copy protection.
