HD is sometimes pixelated
got a toshiba 51h84 which has been great.. one problem is frequently when watching a program in HDTV, some pixelation will occur... it usually does this during sporting events when sweep graphics are used... is this normal? is there any "fix" to it?

What setting do you have it at? 720P may give you a more stable image for a sporting event than 1080i.
If you are getting your HDTV over the air (OTA) you may simply have a reception problem. |
It's not your tv it's the reception from the HD box. I have the same problem to.

It's via the cable box... it's set for 1080i.. not sure how to switch it to 720p

Of course, my signal is OTA, but KVUE is the only one I am currently having any problems with (outside the once-every-30-minutes audio dropout on other channels). |

Hmmm.... Nothing in the last few days mentioning that sort of problem. They mention audio synch problems on KVUE (ABC), and problems with KXAN (NBC), but not pixelation problems. You might want to read further back than me. That thread supports all of Centex HD, OTA and cable. Wouldn't hurt to ask there.

If it's cable, it can still be reception problems with poor connections or older cables or something. Have you contacted the company, yet?

Well, if you are able to get decent reception, OTA ought to look better. Usually much less potential for signal loss.
