my dad is offering to sell his tv to me

http://shopping.yahoo.com/p:Panasoni...,pdid:59,pos:2

he said he would take 30% off and its basically new. he doesnt watch it much at all. its in good shape.

however, im not sure what its 30% off of - if its off of what he paid for it, probably not good because i could get it new for less than that. but if its 30% less than what its worth now, thats a different story. however, looking at the above link, the prices vary big time. 1600 to 2900.

whats the most i should pay for it? what should my limit be?

and does anyone have this tv - do you like it? pros? cons?

That looks like a piece of junk. Tell you what, just have him send it here, I'll take care of getting rid of it for him. You guys wouldn't want that TV.

To be perfectly honest, I don't think anybody here can help much between you and a family member working out used pricing. If he paid full retail, he got taken in this internet age. It's up to you guys to figure out who gets the shaft. Unless he didn't pay much, then he won't lose much. Keep in mind those lowest prices are from ripoff joints. But Costco is starting to have TVs of this size under $2k sitting on the shelf, maybe even of this calibre.

So I'd say around $2k for me. I'm waiting til early next year, the prices on these things are dropping like meteors.

i dunno.. this seems obvious to me, but i think it would be stupid to pay any more than the lowest (shipped) price on the link you posted..

Hello,

It's from your Dad -- It should be free!

I would offer him a grand tops. The PQ on this thing is mediocre compared to other options in its street price range.
