Set Top Box Help Needed

Ok,

I bought a 36" JVC HD-capable set and got a set top box with it. Trouble is, I don't want to disconnect my DVD player from the component input, so does that mean I have to forego HDTV?

Does the box or tv have dvi or hdmi inputs/outputs?
Do you have to hook up the dvd via component?
or would s video be good enough-is it progressive scan etc?
With some more info, someone should be able to help out.

Good luck!

My set top box and TV have 15-pin RGB inputs, so will that work? I hear S-video connection will result in a 20% reduction in DVD pic quality.
