Good review site for Camcorders?

Can anybody direct me to a good site that reviews camcorders?

We're expecting our first child in a couple of months and I've recieved the directive to seek out and find a camcorder.

I'm looking for something sub 1k, that I can (hopefully) easily transfer to DVD and still maintain good quality.

If anybody has good recommendations that would be great too.

Thanks

www.camcorderinfo.com

is where I did my research before buying.
Indepth reviews, user forums, rankings, etc. Very informative site.

Based in part on their reviews, I got their best-of-2004-under-400$ model, the JVC GRDUS33 and have enjoyed it a lot, it's got good low light performance and a built in LED light to help. Unfortunately, this year's equivalent has actually removed a couple of features.
Depends of course on your budget, you say you're looking for below 1k, so your budget range is a little wider than mine was.

CNet.com also has a pretty good camcorder section (with reviews):

I've been using a combination of camcorderinfo and Dvspot.com. I finally settled on getting a Panny GS-120 but apparently theyre discontinued & the replacement (150) isnt as good, and is more $$.

Cnet is very good also.

Also, if anyone knows of a reputable retailer that still sells the 120, feel free to let me know

Try Beach Camera, I got a Digtal Camera from them a while back and I had no problems with them. http://www.beachcamera.com/shop/prod...&sku=PNPVGS120

Actually Amazon has it for a little more too just search it there.

I agree... I'm currently shopping and I learned a ton there.

Now I just have to decide between the convenience of a the very small (and fairly well reviewed) Sony DCR-PC359 but single CCD
and the Pany PV-GS series with 3 CCD (but a bigger size unit).

Both around $1000

Bought the wife the 120 last summer just before we had the baby. Great cam for the $$$. You should easily be able to get it from an online retailer still. Camcorderinfo.com is an awesome sight - very thorough and informative.
