Good +/- dvd recorder for under $200?

Does such an animal exist? or am I going to have to spend more to avoid getting a piece of junk.

I know BJ's has a Lite-On recorder for $175..never heard any reviews of their non-PC products though.

Any recommendations?

I'm not sure if there is a dual-format recorder for under $200. Check Videohelp under the DVDrecorder section for reviews. That should help narrow down the selections.

I started with an Ilo from Wal-Mart and returned it for an Emerson -R/RW. Other than the fact it doesn't handle -R discs rated for over 4x, it's been worth the price so far.

Well, it does look like there is one under $200

It's under $140 at Wal-Mart. It's currently sold out. One review hates it, one loves it, could be worth trying out for yourself though.

The Lite On 5005 is under $200 at K-Mart. I have it, burns both -/+ but it doesnt like all media. I've had success w/ DVD+Rs from Maxell.

You can spend $299 and get a Sony RDR-GX300. Records on DVD+R, DVD+RW, DVD-R and DVD-RW. It's worth the extra hundred dollars.
