TV Technology immune to Burnin
 

from what I've read
only LCD's and DLP are relatively immune
to burnin

are there any others that I've missed?

Those are the two technologies known for being more resistant to burn-in. DLP cannot burn in (it uses color wheels instead of any sort of phosphor), however, LCD can burn in (I have burn in on my HP2023 LCD).

The technology on sets are really ramping up, LCD burn-in is so rare that many still believe it's impossible, the latest plasmas are stating in their user manuals that they are as burn-in resistant as a CRT, etc.

That's not saying much. CRT is the technology most prone to burn-in.

I have the Sony LCD rear projection. Anyone know if these sets are also supposed to be resistent to burnin like regular LCD's?

LCD, LCD-FP, DLP-FP, DLP-RP, LCD-RP, LOCS-RP, LCOS-FP are all immune to burn in.


[Ok, Some LCD Tvs have shown burn in. The manufacturer has replaced the panels, outside ofthe warrenty. I've only heard about the Sharps doing this. Kudos to Sharp for doing the right thing.]

The new panasonic plasmas (7UY) are resistent to burn in.
