I was also wanting to ask:

I dont think my DVD Player is Progressive...is there anyway to see if this set does Progressive Scan so that I dont have to buy another DVD player...

Well, lets just say that I wouldn't spend $700 on a Sanyo. But I've never owned one, so I really can't speak from experience - just going by word of mouth. If I were going to invest more than $500 in a new set, I'd be willing to pay a couple hundred more to get a reliable brand...you'll be happier in the long run.

BTW is that model a 4:3 set with HDTV? I don't know why anyone would invest in an HDTV set and NOT get a widescreen model.

I dont want Widescreen...plain and simple...the Widescreen image on a 4:3 TV is only an inch difference on a 30 Widescreen TV and I cant fit anything bigger than a 30 Widescreen at the house...and I watch to many TV shows and hate the bars on the side and a 4:3 image on a 30 Widescreen TV is 24 inches...way to small!

and I was asking more for people who own Sanyo products or TV's...not people who dont...no offense...

My parents have a Sanyo 25 inch that is about 7 years old and it looks great. My brother has a 20 inch Sanyo that is a couple of years old and its got a good picture for a standard television (sharp, bright picture). I know Consumer Reports rates Sanyo highly on reliability and quality, although not as high as Sony and Toshiba on picture quality. I am seriously considering this set as well.

I almost bought the same set you're considering but I went with the Sony 32HS420 instead, only because I found a dealer with a open box unit and paid only $50 more than the 32" Sanyo.

From what I've read the Sanyo is a nice set. I've seen the 30" Widescreen at Wal-Mart and it has a really nice picture. Here's a thread you can check out that has some good info about both the 30 & 32" Sanyo's:

Ok then to answer your question....yes, the Sanyo 32" set at Wal-Mart is an excellent deal for $697 and Sanyo is a good brand. After the research I did I would have gone with the Sanyo 32" had I not gotten such a good deal on the Sony 32".

I've seen it at Best Buy, Circuit City & Good Guys for $999. I live in WA and we have a place up here called Video Only and was able to get the exact same set through them for $799. Model number is KV-32HS420.

I bought the Sanyo 30" about 2 weeks ago. It's my first HDTV and I'm satisfied with it. Picture is sharp and clear. It has a built in tuner which makes this tv a great deal. I don't have cable so I just get OTA HD (CBS, NBC, ABC, FOX, KTLA) channels using a $10 antenna from Wal Mart. I don't know if this tv has a progressive scan, it doesn't state on the manual. Wal Mart's warranty, through their website, is $42 for 3 years. BTW, if you know anyone that works at Wal- Mart, the employee can go with you and get a 10% discount.

I've had this TV for a couple of months now. The picture quality is great and it's a very good deal for the price.

I've had a 19" Sanyo for 10 years and it still has a great picture. I've never had a single problem with it and it's had a lot of use over the last 10 years.

If I recall correctly, Sanyo tube televisions ranked top in Consumer Reports several years ago for least number of repairs or something like that. From that perspective, one might say that Sanyo might be every bit as reliable as the more popular brands. I can't personally vouch either way for Sanyo, however.

So you bought the Sanyo? I just bought a progressive scan dvd player two days ago and I can't get a "great" picture with 480p. Everybody's skin tone looked like it had a bad tan. The only way I could change their skin tone to look natural is by decreasing the color, which makes everything else lack color (spent 2 hours trying to figure out what was wrong). The S - video looked more natural but less detail. I'll probably be returning it if I can't get a good component video quality.

I bought the Sanyo 32" about two weeks ago and I love it! The image quality from cable TV varies from fantastic to average depending on the channel but the DVD quality is amazing.

The TV deal was the same one everone here has talked about; $697 from Walmart but one thing no one mentioned is it's HEAVY! The box is exactly the size of the cargo area of Cherokee and weighs about 140# with no easy way to get a handle on the thing.
