Audio Menu Options???

I've got my stereo hooked up to my TV, but it's not a surround sound setup, just two 3-way speakers, woofers being 15" with a max of 150 watts.
My TV has stereo speakers with the option of enhanced sound mode, which basically gives you the illusion of having surround sound.
My question is, which would be the best option for me when selecting sound options on DVD's? Should I just stick with the default, which is usually 5.1 or do I change it to something else like 2.0? Should I keep the TV volume down or use it along with my stereo?

My advice would be to turn the volume down on the television and just use your stereo speakers.

Depending on their placement, you'll get a fuller soundfield than you will instead of using your TV speakers, though it will still be essentially a stereo presentation.

Since your receiver doesn't offer any surround modes, deciding between the 5.1 vs 2.0 mixes is sort of a moot point.

You will probably want to opt for the 2.0 mix when available, but if come across a disc with 5.1 and 2.0 surround/stereo, mess around and see if you notice any difference.

Thanks for the suggestions.
My speakers are positioned on either side of the room, so I'm basically surrounded by my speakers without having the full effect.
