some of the online direct brands have been getting a lot of attention in so other audio forums. Twice the material content for a given price, in other words not dealer margin.

www.av123.com
http://www.axiomaudio.com/

and some others too

In the same vein, you may want to check these sites out:

http://www.hometheaterdirect.com
http://www.svsubwoofers.com

I can personally vouch for the HTD speakers, I've really enjoyed mine and think they are a steal for the price.

As for SVS, you can read any review by anyone who has ever heard one and see that their subwoofers easily outperform competitors that cost hundreds or even thousands of dollars more. I can't wait to buy one when I move in a few months.

Well this is an interesting model for business that has caught my eye.

The standard model is like this-

$25 for materials
turns into
$40~50 sales price to the retailer
turns into
$80~$120 final price for the customer

But online if you keep the same final price you have ~$50 for materials and still the manufacture makes more profit then then standard model. Bottom line my eliminating the dealer both the manufacture and the customer gets a better deal.

Here is the catch. None of these online companies have real engineering. There products are sourced and designed in China. The seems to be room for state of the art products in this sales channel - -------------->maybe

I've never own any Onkyo equipment but at that price it's hard to argue with.

Anyone have this? How is that center channel?
When I got my first HT receiver and speakers I learned that the front center speaker is really much more important than I ever imagined.
