HK AVR430 vs AVR630

I've pretty much decided on Harman Kardon as the receiver I want to get, but I'm not sure which specific HK receiver to purchase. I compared the 430 and 630 over at HK and the only difference (in their side-by-side comparison) is that the 630 does 75 watts per channel and the 430 does 65 watts per channel.

All the forums I've visited seem to highly recommend HK produts. Does anyone have any opinions (or something that I might be missing) that might push my decision one way or the other? I'm just having a hard time convincing myself to spend an extra $300 on 10 extra watts per channel.

(I checked again and noticed the HDCD capability of the 630, but I don't think I'll be using that capability very much)

Thanks.

I recently purchased a H/K. A refurbished AVR-120 which has a whopping 40 watts per channel. It has more power then my old crappy Sony which was rated at 80 watts or so. I had originally purchased it for my bedroom set. But it sounds so good and has the power to use in my family room system.

You will love the H/K. It really is night and day sound quality difference between it and my old sony. No doubt I will eventlually get another H/K receiver for my media room.

I think I've settled on the AVR-430. Seems like a good compromise for price and value (while still getting high quality).

i got a refurb 630 on ebay and i think that's a very good deal.

there are a few other differences that the AVR 630 has:
50 amps amplifier vs 40 amps
75 watts/channel vs 65 watts/channel
HDCD processing
bass management for direct audio inputs
switchable front panel in/out jacks

The refurb 430 I was going to buy went OOS, so I'm now debating whether I really want to spend an extra couple of hundred to buy the 630 Decisions, decisions...

Got my eye out for this one for my media room...

Think it is such a good deal as, as is, it is "only" 5.1
