help with a new TV...

hey, i'm looking for a new TV for my bedroom, i'm replacing an old 20" Samsumg, and since i don't have that much space, i'm thinking of getting a 24" Toshiba i've been reading about.

It's the Toshiba FST Pure Flat MTS 24AF43, and it's about $330 at Best Buy.
HERE IT IS

i got a question, does it have the 16:9 "squeeze" trick to play WS DVDs?

i'm not sure if it has it. And if anyone has a recomendation for a similar TV, they're welcome.

It probably has it. My 20" version of that set does. And the remote has a button for it.

hey, how do you like the TV?
i'm between this and a bit more expensive Sony WEGA, but i've read at someplaces that the Toshiba has a better image, plus smaller price.

I have to say I really like the picture and the features. To put this in perspective, I'm a loyal, happy Sony owner (25" XBR, 27" Wega) and I hate the Toshiba company (for reasons not relevant to this discussion).

I compared the set to the Sony equivalent which was right next to it at Best Buy and preferred the Toshiba's picture. (I was actually looking at it tonight during dinner and thought "damn, that's a good picture.")

We have had some threads about these sets before so you might try a search in this forum.

I Googled the model number and found a page at Toshiba that says yes, this does have 16:9 mode, which is what you were asking about. Here's Toshiba's page about the TV:

thanks, i think i0m gonna get it now, one of the things that i don't like about the WEGAs is that the 16:9 mode is just from the 27" models and bigger, so this is a plus for the Toshiba.

thanks for the comments

Are you sure about that? I thought the newer 20" models also had it.
