Advice On Buying A 27 Inch Flatscreen TV?
Hi all, I would appreciate your comments and experiences on this. 27 inches is as large as I'm going to go as it's going into a room that will accomodate that size very nicely. I'm leaning towards a Sony but I haven't decided for sure yet, or even know which model Sony I would want to buy in that configuration. I plan on buying the set during my summer vacation in July so I'd like some input from people who are DVD afficionados like myself

I just bought a Sony 27" flat screen, model 27kv100, or something like that. It was on clearance at BB for $349 ($399 orig.).
So far I like it very much. With the 16:9 enhancement, DVD's look stunning with smooth, clear picture. I just posted my own thread looking for advice on OTA t.v. reception problems, but that is more likely an issue with my antenna than the t.v.
User menu's are fairly intuitive and they have some nice direct adjustment buttons on the remote for on-the-fly adjustments you might make on a day to day basis (i.e., picture setting options for movies, sports, t.v.; audio modes; input modes).
This model also has 2 S-video and 1 Component set of inputs.
In the same size range, there were Toshiba's, JVC and Samsungs for MSRP $350 or some of the Korean brands for

I have a similar Sony. I recommend that you have it delivered and set up by the store. Turn it on before you sign for it. These large flat tubes sometimes have convergence problems right out of the box. Make sure there are no color splotches caused by poor convergence.
