Recommend me some nice speakers for MUSIC

I'm already set with my movie speakers, but I'd like to use my receivers A/B speaker options to get some more out of my music. I do have a powered sub. I'd prefer 3-ways, but I'd consider 2 ways. I'd also like floorstanding, but bookshelves are fine.

Let's say that my price range is $100-$500. I just want some ideas what's out there.

If I had to choose it would be a pair of the following

B&W 602

http://www.bwspeakers.com/index.cfm/...l%20DM602%20S3

I have owned a pair and loved them. I upgraded them to CM4's but sometimes I still miss my 602's

As with any loudspeaker purchase you should do the following:

Audition extensively with your own source material
Be allowed to try an in home trial with a reasonable return period

I have never heard these but they have a tremendous internet following:

If you are willing to take a chance and have the room for them I would try this

http://www.magnepan.com/1-800-474-1646/mmg.html

I own a pair of Magnepan MG1A's that are 24 years old. They were my introduction into high end audio. I absolutely love them and made a place on my 'b' channel in my home theater just for them. You can see them in my theater link off to the sides of the room. If you can live with the planar design and have the proper room for them you will NOT be disappointed.

Well the Maggies might be too much but if you have a local store you should hear them.

I love my Paradigm Monitor 7's, but they're closer to $700. For a great sounding speaker for their price, find a Paradigm dealer, and check out the Mini Monitors. If I remember right, they run about $350 (no more than $400 for sure).

They're bookshelf speakers, but I was amazed at the sound they put out. I used to own them, but upgraded to the floorstanding 7's because the 2 year old (at the time) made me nervous around those speaker stands.

When I looked at them on the shelf, I was sure I "needed" something much larger. I could not believe the sound when I heard them demo'd. Check out Paradigm's website for a dealer locator.

Very underrated and well worth your time to audition would be Focal JMLabs Chorus S line (especially the 706S):

A good floorstander in your price range is the PSB Image 4T.

Not only are they hideous, they sound like crap. They were hooked up to a Yamaha receiver, and honestly, the KLHs sounded better.

In all fairness Celestion is not the same as they were in the 70's.

I use several of their loudspeakers in my guitar amps, but I believe those are made in the UK. The recent Celestions are made in China.
