Picture turns to black for a 1/2 second when watching in progressive scan mode

Hello,

Maybe you guys can help me figure this out. I have a JVC 7 Disc Progressive Scan player and I'm using the component video out to a brand new 46" Widescreen Sony TV. I was watching Spiderman today and the part where the green goblin throws the pumpkin bomb to incinerate the old guys who he used to work for the picture turns black for a split second and then goes back to the movie. I made sure the component cables where in tight and still nothing.

I tested this out on another player (no component video) and there was no problem.

Would this typically be a problem with a player? Or the TV?

If you tested the disc on another player and did not have a problem then I would suspect your player. The TV can only display what it is being fed and it sounds like the player lost some data for a second.

Try doind somemore testing since you know the spot as well as trying other discs.

Returned it to Costco and got a Panasonic F84. Not a problem any longer. It was a defective player.
