I'm having a strange problem with my TV. It suddenly lost all channels, only get snow. Tried reprogramming, no luck. Unhooked cable box and channels 51 to 64 plus 79 now work. I unplugged everything for a few days and same results. Does it sound like something worth repairing in a 5 yr old tv?

I'm guessing you have a cable/antenna button (or function within the menu), and it got switched to antenna. Switch it back to cable.

Did a storm pass through recently? Could lightning have taken out your set?

or

Since you have a cable box, does your tv get anything over the air without the cable box connected? I am not sure I would write off a tv so quickly where a cable box is involved.
