Problems connecting my PC to my RCA reciever...

I am trying to use my RCA reciever for sound for my computer. So I can play my music from my computer, through my RCA speakers.

Problem is...I get a slight "buzzing" sound.

I used a dual end stereo cord here:

http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/pro...d=&newdeptid=2

I plugged that from the back of my PC to a convertor with white and red ends so I could plug it to my RCA reciever.

It plays sound fine, but I get a slight buzzing sound that I can't seem to get rid of.

Ideas? =(

Try muting everything in your volume control on your computer that you don't need. Or it could be a bad cord, which could cause a buzzing.

Do you hear the buzz if you plug headphones into the same PC jack?

What kind of convertor are we talking here?

I'd go with a single cable (headphone to RCA left/right jacks).

I do the same with my old reciever.
I just use a stereo cable with a 1/8" stereo phone plug.
Try all inputs on your reciever,,,,ie - AUX,TAPE, ** NOT PHONO** and you should be ok.

Here is the cord I use.Just plug it in the out of your shound card and the RCA's into your reciver.

Get it here

You might have a grounding problem. Try grounding the receiver to the PC.
