Pioneer DVR-57H...Should I?

Hello All

Those that have it or know about it... should I buy it?

Kindly give pros & Cons regarding the 57H Recorder.

I have "Panasonic E30" right now...
Guessing newer ones should better now correct?

Tivo & HD really don't need right now, but useful in future.
Most my recording to DVD-R is from VHS, Laser Disc & DVD.

Call me picky, my entire set-up is black, don't care for silver.

Thanks,
Barry

Pros - free 3 day schedule, DVD-R, Tivo, excellent dvd playback

Cons- watch tv 24 hours a day, have to watch to record scrambled signal, no DVD-A, no SACD

I am getting one soon

Well got this piece of junk yesterday & I hate it.
Nothing more than a digital VCR.

I could be way off & have it set up wrong or something?
I sure wish someone that knows anything could help.
Please post soon, as I need to return this thing fast!

I have a Pioneer Receiver 2 VCRs, 2 DVD players,
Laser Disc Player, etc via 49tx.
I run S-Video & Composite to 2 separate inputs of Panasonic.
All works perfect & no complaints.
When I try to do same connections with Elite Player/Recorder.
Most videos but not all via composite transfer to hard drive.
S-Video, forget it, nothing can be transfered to Elite Via S-Video.
Wonder why the dumb idiots put a S-Video input than, S.O.B's.
9-10 videos transfer to hard drive via composite will not record
to DVD-R. Says copyright material. My ass copyright.
When you can't transfer videos from super VHS to recorder...
this thing belongs in the garbage!
Here I thought I was upgrading to something better, looking
forward to adding numbnails for menu, etc.
I can't see this player/Recorder doing much of nothing.
Please Please tell me what am I missing with this thing???

Thanks,
Barry
