dvd cabinets??????

Does anyone know a good place to shop for a BIG dvd cabinet?? I've already filled up two cabinets with around 400 dvds total. I would like to be able to find one big home for them instead of continually buying cabinets and running out of space.Any help is appreciated!Peace.........

they have NICE racks (if it fits your decor) and 400+ DVD's is something it can easily handle.

This is the one I bought. I'm very happy with it. Holds 900 DVDs or over 2000 CDs. It's very attractive in person. They have smaller versions too. I'm getting to the point where I need another one.

namlook: That is a nice looking unit! I just have WalMart racks at the moment, but will be upgrading when we buy a house this year.

I'll have to look into that!

Thanks!

This is what I have. I bought two if them and have them right next to each other, so it looks like one large unit.

Here is a link to the page: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...A91790%3A91850

The best thing about it is the cost. It is $19.77 plus shipping and tax, breaks down to about $50 shipped for two of them (maximum capacity is about 160 DVDs each)

It is an online exclusive, though.

Good luck!

I'm still searching for a solution for my collection.

I'm looking for a CHEAP/affordable CLOSED door cabinet.
(preferrably Maple light wood coloer finish).
THe more it holds the better. (maybe the kind that holds some in the door as well.

I've used the open shelves for the past few years, which they have overflowed and now 1/3 of them are just piled on the floor next to the shelves. I just think I would like the closed door (w/ lock maybe) better in the room they are in.

A while ago I bought some DVD cases from Office Max. It's open shelf case similar to the one at Walmart. Price is like $30-40. I bought 3 a while ago that could hold around 350 DVDs with a lot of room for growth.

I also bought a DVD/Multimedia case with locked doors from Rite-Aid. It could hold like 200+ DVDs and cost around $35-40. You might still be able to find it if there is a Rite-Aid near your place. I looked for it online but it doesn't look like they sell it online.

Here is a small pic for you. It cam up okay on mine.

It is $109.92, holds 268 DVDs, and is available for store pickup only.

I might have to go this route when my kids get a little older.

has anybody tried these?

I am thinking about buying one or two of these DVD storage cabinets at storeyourmedia .

They are "mission style" and the things I like about them is: (a) all wood, (b) keeps DVDs out of sight initially (which means the room does not look messy), (c) keeps dust off of the DVD cases, etc.

Has anybody tried this store? or this brand? Do you like it?

example pictures:

I am also interested in something similiar with a lock (to keep the kids away from the PG-13 and R films). Have you seen anything similiar with a lock?

thanks

I like these units as well, but the price has kept me away. Check ebay, I found some of these on ebay that shipped directly from the mfg, and was about $50 cheaper than any online dealers I found.

I built shelves into my wall:

Right now they're just primed. Someday the wall and shelves will all be the same color.

Um....nice lights, Elvis.

Seriously, though, nice job on the construction!

Here's MY PROBLEM: i have roommates. they are good friends. i'm generous and so are they. however i have one thing i won't share and that's my dvd's. so what outside of these ikea options could i get with glass doors and the ability to attach a lock. i want to see the spines, it's away in my room and i'm proud of what i've got but it has to be locked. the collection is at 300 titles.

cabinet option 1

cabinet option 2

and then there's the ikea option posted above with the billy bookcase.

thank you

This looks nice -- anybody know how many dvds it'll hold with this configuration?

Got the cabinet from overstock

I ended up buying these from overstock. They aren't as nice as the ones from storeyourmedia, but the price was good ($160s or $180s or so). And it seems like I used a coupon or code (or I bought over a certain $$ amount) to get a slight discount or some free shipping. Can't exactly remember.

But, I got two oak-looking cabinets for the media room last summer. No need for real wood there. I put them together in a few hours. They are now side-by-side and my projector hangs from a small shelf I attached between the two.

Nice and neat. Keeps the dust off the DVDs. Keeps the sunlight off the DVDs. Keeps little fingers off the DVDs.
