I'm stuck in Progressive Mode! HELP!

I have a Toshiba SD-3815 five disc DVD changer. I put it in progressive mode today by accident, and the tv is NOT progressive. How on earth do I get it OUT of progressive mode?? The image now does not display on my TV, so I can’t navigate the menus. I tried a power cycle, but that didn’t help.

By chance, is there a progressive button on the front of the player? I know my player has a button that you can press to switch from progressive to interlaced.

Can you temporarily hook up s-video or composite so you can see the menu?

This happened to me with my Malata once. I was panicking but decided to read through the owner's manual very carefully. I came upon: "Hold on SUBPICTURE button for 5 seconds to shift between interlaced and progressive scanning modes." It's likely your answer is in your owner's manual too.

For Toshiba players: Press the STOP key to stop the DVD in the player, release it, then press and hold the STOP key down for 5 seconds.

Thanks sparksdjs... that did it.

I'm visiting relatives so I don't have the manual etc. The player and tv are impossible to get to the back of, or else I'd have just hooked up a composite video cable. ...and I didn't want to let on I'd screwed up their new player!

No progressive button on remote or player... impossible to fix w/o knowing the "stop" thing.

whew!
