Which HDTV to buy? Sony 46" or Mitsubishi 48"

I am considering buying a widescreen hdtv.
I have been looking at these two models:

Mitsubishi 48" (model #48413) - silver plus series.

Sony 46" (model #46WT510)

The Mitsubishi is about $250 more than the Sony. Anyone have any experiences with these, good or bad? What are your recommendations?

Mitsu makes better rptv's than Sony, in general. And they're more tweakable. See hometheaterspot for details. But go for a 55" if you can find a good deal. Bigger is always better!

This may seem like common sense, but that is why I did not think about it. We have a 48" Mitsubishi, and we have enjoyed it, but I have nothing to compare it to. We have ours in our FROG, and there a landing at the top of the stairs that is about 3ft square, which you then have to navigate a 90 degree right turn. I thought for whatever reason that you could turn the TV sideways like you could a regular tube tv. You can't. It fit by maybe an inch. Any bigger and it would have had to be returned. Isn't there a 10% restocking fee? That would have been around $200 at the time. I do agree that bigger is better, other in that case. It will probably be sold with the house.

Anyway, Mitsubishi is a very good TV, and like someone said, check out hometheaterspot.com. Very good resource.

Congrats and enjoy!
