Will THESE speakers work with THIS reciever?! HELP!

I need your help.

Speaker language is 100% foreign to me. I recently aquired this
Kenwood reciever and I need to know if these speakers
would be compatable.

Also a very "Layman explination" of why would be great.

THANKS!!!

Jason

One more question, In order for DTS to work, do you need to use
a digital coaxial? The reason I ask is I have my dvd player
hooked up to the reciever via optical, but I can't get audio when
playing a DTS disk. The manual for the reciever is a little vague
and seems to be saying that in order to get the DTS ES to work
I need to have the dvd hooked up through digital coaxial.
The reason I ask is I've never heard this before.

Thanks again for the help,

Jason

You need a DTS capable receiver to play DTS track. Either coaxial, or optical can do the job.

That's wierd. I have my DVD player (DTS compatable) hooked up
via optical but the reciever isn't giving me audio when playing the
DTS track. I guess it's time to call Kenwood customer support.

I'll post when I get an answer from them.

Specs on my reciever

Your dvd player needs to be set to output the dts stream. Sometimes on a particular dvd you must select the dts track from the setup options on the disc. Your receiver must be set to receive the dts stream.

I'm such an idiot! You were right. I did figure this out earlier
today, but I wanted to thank you for the right answer either way.
If I hadn't figured it out I would've been pulling my hair out by
now. I have 2 dvd's and this is the one that I hadn't been using
as much, and the other was automatic. Thanks for the help!

Jason
