Please Help: Scratched Screen on my Big Screen!

I have a Sony 46 inch and it got a scratch on the vinyl (I think that's what they said it's made from) screen during a move. It's about 4 inches in length going down, but it's very, very thin. From a distance it looks like there is a white streak, maybe like wax or something you can wipe off. But you can't, it's a scratch.

The lighter the picture is (sunny day on a program) and you can't tell it's there, but as it progressively gets darker it's more and more noticeable. In a night scene it can be very annoying, but it just happened and I may even not notice it much after a while as the scratch is pretty far to the right.

Cicruit City couldn't have been less helpful only telling me to live with it or buy a new one for $400, which is about one third of buying a new big screen tv.

Is there anything that anyone knows of to make this less noticeable? I realize there is no "buy the book" remedy and no way to get the scratch gone, but has anyone tried anything that worked that simply lessened how much you noticed a scratch?

It's such a thin scratch that if it were covered in any way to make the whiteness of the scratch less apparent, I don't think I'd have a problem living with it until the time comes for a new tv.

If anyone has ANY suggestions (other than "you're shit out of luck, cause I'm already feeling kind of down about it), please let me know.

Thank you.

Have you tried contacting Sony support? They might have a solution for such a small scratch.
